The Longview Fire Department will offer a two-hour course for senior residents on topics such as fire prevention, fall prevention, the file of life program, and the ambulance subscription program.  

On Wednesday, January 5th, 2012, LFD held a promotional ceremony like no other in department history. Amy Dodgen, one of only three female firefighters within the department became the very first to promote to a station officer position. Lieutenant Dodgen has been with the Longview Fire Department since 1999 and was also the very first female in the department's history to promote to Fire Driver in 2004.
