About the Longview Fire Department
Longview Fire Department has been serving the City of Longview since 1881. What began an all volunteer department of 35 members has evolved into a modern and dynamic fire department.
Today, Longview Fire Department serves a population of approximately 78,000 people from eight fire stations with 160 career members. Apparatus includes 7 engines, 3 ladder trucks, 2 Battalion Chiefs, 1 EMS Duty Officer, and 4 MICU ambulances. Longview Fire Department responds to approximately 17,000 calls per year (46 per day).
The department’s many specialty teams allow members opportunity to expand on their field of interest. Our teams include Special Operations (high angle rescue, trench rescue, HazMat), Water Rescue/Dive Team, SCBA maintenance, Medical Preceptor, and Infection Control.
We take pride in the progressive and professional nature of Longview Fire Department. We strive to obtain the latest tactics and technology available in order to provide effective and efficient customer service to the citizens of Longview.

Enrollment for the 2014 Ambulance Subscription Program will open in October 2013. - The City of Longview and LFD are committed to providing quality, affordable emergency ambulance care as a service to all residents of Longview. This subscription program is an optional plan that is available.
